The Office of Innovation and Improvement offers a grant program that supports projects that aim to raise student achievement by improving teachers’ knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of traditional American history as a separate subject within the core elementary and secondary school curriculum. Each applicant LEA must work in partnership with other agencies or institutions.

Priorities include improving teacher effectiveness and high school graduation rates as well as using data for decision making.

The deadline for this proposal is April 4, 2011.
